Paul Barthel (painter)
Paul Barthel (born March 24, 1862 in Zwickau , † August 7, 1933 in Fürth ) was a German genre and landscape painter. Barthel began his painting lessons in 1877 at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Dresden and continued at the Royal Prussian Academy of the Arts in Berlin with Julius Ehrentraut and Eugen Bracht .
After graduation, Barthel worked in Dresden, where he mainly dealt with watercolor painting .
From 1881 to 1885 he created flower pictures for the Berlin Hagelsberg art print company. At that time Barthel was also engaged in landscape painting and wall painting , a. a. in the Bamberg Böttingerhaus .
In 1922 he settled in Bamberg , where he worked as a restorer .
