Paul Bertrand (Bishop)

Paul Émile Joseph Bertrand (born July 11, 1925 in La-Louptière-Thénard ) is a French clergyman and bishop emeritus of Mende .

Life

Paul Bertrand was ordained a priest on October 10, 1948 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 12, 1975 titular bishop of Tagaria and auxiliary bishop in Lyon . The Archbishop of Lyon, Alexandre-Charles Cardinal Renard , donated him episcopal ordination on September 14th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were René Stourm , Archbishop of Sens , and Louis Kuehn , Bishop of Meaux .

On September 14, 1989, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Mende . On October 16, 2001, he accepted Bertrand's age-related resignation.
