Paul Burke (* 1962 ) is a British copywriter and writer .

Life and work

Paul Burke was initially a driver at Abbott Mead Vickers before he became successful as a copywriter at the same advertising agency as well as at Young & Rubicam , JWT and BMP. He designed u. a. Campaigns for Barclays , Volkswagen , PG Tips and Kitkat . He specialized in radio advertising, for which he has received many awards. In 2003 he founded his own production company.

His first novel was published in 2002, three more followed by 2007. Father Frank and The Man Who Fell in Love With His Wife have the same protagonist, the Catholic priest Frank Dempsey. This is an atheist and works as a taxi driver. He gets to know Sarah, gives up his priesthood and starts a family with her. Untorn Tickets is an educational novel about two teenagers in Notting Hill in the late 1970s. The Life of Reilly is about Sean Reilly looking for a new romance after years of marriage.

Burke also wrote for The Guardian and The Sunday Times , worked for various radio stations and was a DJ .
