Paul Cohrs

Paul Wilhelm Christof Cohrs (born March 22, 1897 in Oederan , † April 20, 1977 in Ucova ) was a German veterinarian and university lecturer in Leipzig and Hanover .

Life

Cohrs studied natural sciences and veterinary medicine at the University of Leipzig and the University of Veterinary Medicine Dresden until his doctorate in 1923. From 1927 he taught as a private lecturer for pathology and pathological anatomy of animals at the veterinary medicine faculty of the University of Leipzig, from 1928 as a regular associate professor for veterinary medicine. Histology. In 1937 he moved to the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover as a full professor of pathology . In 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . In 1951 Cohrs was a founding member of the German Veterinary Medical Society . In 1962 he became a member of the Leopoldina . Its manuals have been translated into many languages.
