Paul Fröhlich (born June 7, 1938 ) is a former German football player who was active in 1962 for Dynamo Dresden in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

In 1960, the 22-year-old Paul Fröhlich played his first point games in GDR-wide football. For the Police Sports Association (SG) Dynamo Dresden he played three games in the second-rate first GDR league in the calendar year season and scored one goal. Subsequently, GDR football was switched back to the summer-spring game rhythm, and 39 point games had to be played in the GDR league from March 1961 to June 1962. Fröhlich completed 23 matches and scored twelve goals, which contributed to SG Dynamo being promoted to the GDR league. In the league season 1962/63 Fröhlich played all 13 first round matches and with his five hits was one of the team's most accurate shooters. Then he was no longer used in the 1st team by Dynamo Dresden.

Only after three years did Fröhlich reappear in the national football scene. In the 1966/67 season he was part of the squad of the GDR league club football association Lokomotive Dresden . There he was active for five seasons in the second-rate GDR league, but only reached more than half of the league games played in 1968/69 with 22 appearances (30). By 1971 he was called up in only 60 games in the 150 league games played. There was no sign of his scoring danger, only in the 1966/67 season he had a goal. In 1971, Fröhlich ended his career in higher-class football at the age of 33 after having played 13 games in the Oberliga (five goals) and 86 games in the GDR league (14 goals).
