Paul Götzl

Paul Götzl (born January 4, 1884 in Vienna ; † December 23, 1957 there ) was an Austrian industrial manager .

Live and act

Götzl was initially general director of the Austrian weapons factory company , from 1926 Steyr-Werke . From 1929 he was general director of the Austrian Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft and, after the merger to form Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG in 1934, a member of the board there. From 1946 acted as the company's supervisory board chairman.

Under his leadership, the cooperation agreement for the licensed production of Steyr-Fiat was concluded with the Fiat group in the second half of the 1940s , and Fiat models as Steyr-Fiat came onto the Austrian market.

In the 1920s he was a member of the General Council of the Austrian National Bank , which is why his signature could be read on Austrian banknotes.

In 1922, together with Rudolf Illner and Franz Dinghofer, he co-founded KAMIG, Österreichische Kaolin- und Montan Industrie Gesellschaft mbH. The company has been owned and managed by the Götzl family for decades. His son Fritz Götzl was General Manager of the company from 1946, his grandson Peter Götzl from 1977. Alexander Götzl has headed the group of companies since the early 2000s .

From 1933 to 1938 he or his son owned Neudorf Castle in Wildon . He was married to Kornelia Nelly Romana and had two sons and a daughter.
