Paul Intrup (born October 20, 1916 in Skorzencin , Witkowo district , † October 18, 1981 in Salzgitter ) was a German lawyer and administrative officer. From 1972 to 1980 he was City Director of the City of Salzgitter.

Life

Intrup's parents, the manor owner Paul Intrup and his wife Marie, were expelled from Posen in 1923 and moved to Wroclaw . After graduating from high school, Intrup studied law and economics at the University of Wroclaw . With the beginning of the Second World War he was called up for military service, which was interrupted in January 1940 by the completion of the first state examination. From August 1944 to April 1950, Intrup was a Soviet prisoner of war . A short time after his release, he completed his preparatory service as a trainee lawyer at the Braunschweig Higher Regional Court , where he passed his second state examination in March 1954.

Activity in Salzgitter

Intrup worked as a legal assistant in law firms in Helmstedt and Braunschweig before he moved to Salzgitter in September 1954 to the city legal office. After four years he took over the management of the legal office and was elected to the city council for social affairs in April 1964. Since November 1966 he was city ​​treasurer . In January 1972 Intrup was elected Oberstadtdirektor Salzgitters by the city council against the candidate nominated by the SPD. Before the end of his term in office, Intrup took early retirement in March 1980 for health reasons. His successor as chief town director was the town treasurer Hendrik Gröttrup . Intrup died in Salzgitter in 1981.
