Paul Jacottet (born March 4, 1903 in Neuchâtel , Switzerland ; † June 23, 1986 ) was a Swiss electrical engineer and from 1948 head of the VDE regulations .

Life

The son of widow Jacottet attended the Andreanum grammar school in Hildesheim from September 1922 . He then studied heavy current engineering at the Technical Universities of Munich and Berlin and completed his studies in Berlin at the end of 1927 with the main diploma examination. From 1928 to the end of 1931 he worked for Prof. Reinhold Rüdenberg , the chief electrician and head of the scientific department at Siemens-Schuckert-Werke . In 1944 he became a Dr.-Ing. With his thesis Electromagnetic Eddy Fields in Circular Cylindrical Shields for Different Arrangements of the Excitation Field at the TH Berlin . PhD . Around 1940 he went to Heidelberg .

In 1948 he was commissioned by the VDE to rebuild the regulations. Shortly thereafter, he also took over the management of the German Committee of the IEC and the Cigré .

After the Committee for Lightning Rod Construction (ABB) was dissolved in 1945 and the Committee for Lightning Rod Construction for the United Economic Area (ABBW) was founded in 1949 , he became a representative of the VDE here.

From 1951 to 1969 he was the chief editor of the Elektrotechnische Zeitschrift (ETZ). In 1954 he was appointed managing director of VDE and the VDE publishing house.
