Hans Schönfeld (engineer)

Wilhelm Hans Schönfeld (born June 21, 1903 in Oschersleben ; † December 8, 1978 in Hanover ) was a German electrical engineer and as a professor from 1954 to 1956 rector of the Technical University of Hanover .

Life

Schönfeld studied electrical engineering at the TH Berlin from 1922 to 1927 . He then worked at the post office and in the telegraph construction office in Opole and Stendal. In 1934 he became Reichspostrat and in 1939 Oberpostrat. From 1939 he was a professor of telecommunications technology at the TH Danzig. After his habilitation in 1941 at the TH Berlin, he went to Istanbul as a professor from 1943 to 1944, after which he resumed his work at the TH Danzig. After the war he was returned to the postal service. In 1949 he was offered a position at the TH Hannover , from 1954 to 1956 he became its rector. In 1971 he retired .
