Albert Ludwig Vierling (born September 14, 1899 in Straubing , † June 13, 1989 in Langenhagen ) was a German mechanical engineer, professor of conveyor technology at the Technical University of Hanover and rector of the TH Hanover .

Life

After completing his studies, Albert Vierling started teaching mining and smelting machinery at the Clausthal mining academy in 1930 . In 1933 he became a member of the NSDAP and the SA. In 1935 he was offered a professorship at the Technical University of Hanover. From December 1936 to December 1938 Vierling was Lecturer Association Leader at the Technical University of Hanover.

During his time in Hanover, Vierling shifted the research focus of the Institute for Conveying Systems from the hoists , which had previously been mainly covered, to the field of continuous conveyors and added questions about the appropriate organization of the conveyor system in production companies, warehouses, ports and mining operations. The focus changed from looking at individual systems to more comprehensive conveyor technology, which was ultimately reflected in the institute's name change: Institute for Conveyor Technology. From around 1950 the institute mainly researched the conveyance of bulk goods such as coal , overburden and ore with belt conveyors . From 1963 to 1964 Albert Vierling was rector of the Technical University of Hanover, in 1968 he retired .
