Johannes Schlums
Johannes Schlums (born April 12, 1903 in Leipzig ; † February 20, 1980 in Stuttgart ) was a German civil engineer and, as professor of transport, road and urban planning, was the rector of the Technical University of Hanover from 1956 to 1957 .
Life
Schlums received his doctorate from the TH Dresden in 1929 and completed his habilitation ten years later at the TH Berlin. In 1949 he was appointed to the chair for transport, road and urban planning at the TH Hannover. From 1956 to 1957 he was rector there. In 1960 he changed to the chair for road and traffic engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart as successor to Max-Erich Feuchtinger and stayed there until his retirement in 1971. From 1958 he was a member of the Braunschweig Scientific Society .
