Fritz Oesterlen

Eugen Friedrich Oesterlen (born June 24, 1874 in Cannstatt ; † March 19, 1953 in Hanover ) was a German engineer for water turbine technology and as professor from 1925 to 1927 rector of the Technical University of Hanover .
Life
He worked at Voith AG in Heidenheim an der Brenz . During his studies in 1897 he became a member of the Alemannia Stuttgart fraternity . In 1908 he received his doctorate from the Technical University of Stuttgart . In 1917 a call was made to the Technical University of Hanover . From 1925 to 1940 he headed the Institute for Hydraulic Fluid Machinery there. From 1925 to 1927 he was the rector of the university. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
His son Dieter Oesterlen (1911–1994) shaped the cityscape of Hanover as an architect during the period of reconstruction and taught at the Technical University of Braunschweig .
