from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ludwig Klein (born October 16, 1868 in Augsburg ; † July 26, 1945 in Bevensen , Uelzen district ) was a German mechanical engineer and, as professor of materials handling technology at the TH Hannover, Rector of the Technical University of Hanover from 1931 to 1933 .

Life

In 1901, Ludwig Klein was appointed professor for general mechanical engineering at the Royal Technical University of Hanover. He held lectures on general engineering, machine drawing, hoists and pumps, water management, conveying and blower machines and construction machinery. From 1910 a new lecture entitled Conveyor Systems for Bulk Goods was added. This topic formed a new focus of the chair, which in 1930 resulted in the renaming of the institute for conveyor systems. From 1931 to 1933 Ludwig Klein was rector of the Technical University of Hanover. He welcomed the seizure of power by the National Socialists, promoted the Nazification of the university and showed an anti-Semitic attitude, e.g. B. in the appointment process Hugo Kulka for the chair of iron construction and statics 1932/33. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . In 1935 he retired . Albert Vierling was his successor .
