Jürgen Wehrmann

Jürgen Wehrmann (born December 13, 1917 in Stettin ) is a German agricultural scientist and professor and was rector of the Technical University of Hanover from 1971 to 1972 .

Life

The son of a lawyer decided after high school in 1936 for a career as an officer . At the end of World War II he was a staff officer with the rank of major in the 547th Volksgrenadier Division . After the end of the war, Wehrmann completed his practical training and studies, and in 1950 he obtained an agricultural diploma from the University of Kiel . There doctorate he in 1953 at the Institute of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science to Dr. agr. After his habilitation , he worked as director of the Institute for Soil Science and Site Studies at the Munich Forest Research Institute and the University of Munich . In 1965 he became an adjunct professor and director of the Institute for Humus Management at the Research Institute for Agriculture Braunschweig-Völkenrode . In 1967 he received the chair for plant nutrition at the Technical University of Hanover. From 1971 to 1972 Wehrmann was rector of the Technical University of Hanover. In 1987 Wehrmann retired .
