Paul Jandl (2010)

Paul Jandl (* 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cultural journalist and literary critic. He lives in Berlin.

Life

Paul Jandl studied German and philosophy at the University of Vienna . Between 1992 and 2009 he reported as a Viennese cultural correspondent for the feature pages of the NZZ . Since 2010 he has been working as a critic and correspondent for the newspaper Die Welt . From 2010 to 2013 he worked as an editor for Jung und Jung Verlag. From 2013 to 2015 Paul Jandl designed the literature program for Müry Salzmann Verlag, based in Salzburg and Berlin. Paul Jandl is a member of the jury for the Ernst Jandl Prize (he is not related to the poet Ernst Jandl ). From 2009 to 2013 he was a member of the jury for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize .

In 2008 Jandl was visiting professor as Max Kade Critic in Residence at Washington University in St. Louis . He took on teaching positions in literary criticism at various universities in German-speaking countries.
