Paul Koeppler

Paul Köppler (born May 24, 1946 in Austria ) is an organizer and meditation teacher at Buddhist seminars. He is the author of several books that present the teachings of the Buddha in a modern and contemporary language. From 1999 to 2001 he was deputy spokesman for the German Buddhist Union , the umbrella organization for Buddhists in Germany .

life and work

Paul Köppler studied theater studies and philosophy and initially worked as a teacher for some time. In addition, he published literary works. He received his doctorate in 1976 from the University of Vienna with a thesis on "Film comedy from Austria". In 1984 he founded the “Buddhism in the West” association, which soon after acquired its own seminar house, the Waldhaus am Laacher See . Since then, Paul Köppler has been active as an organizer in the club's own house and as a meditation teacher in German-speaking countries. In 2000 he moved to Bonn-Bad Godesberg , where he now runs the Buddhist "Haus Siddhartha". Köppler is married and has one son.
