Paul Kübler

Paul Werner Kübler (born December 30, 1922 in Mannheim ; † August 9, 1969 in Tegernsee ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Kübler was born the son of a master shoemaker. After graduating from the Karl-Friedrich-Gymnasium in 1941 , he took part in the Second World War as a soldier until 1945 . Then he began studying the history and the German and French literature in Heidelberg, Bonn and Paris, which he in 1950 with the graduation to the Dr. phil. finished at the University of Heidelberg .

Kübler entered the school service as a teacher in 1951 and then worked as a teacher in Mannheim. In addition, he was involved in the Protestant church. He was a Protestant church elder from 1953 and from 1959 to 1965 a member of the general church council in Mannheim. He also gave lectures on state-political and contemporary history topics.

Political party

Kübler joined the GVP in 1953 and was a member of the federal executive board. In 1957 he switched to the SPD and was temporarily the party's local chairman in Neuostheim .

MP

Kübler was a council member of the city of Mannheim from 1959 to 1961. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 until his death. He was first drawn into parliament via the state list of Baden-Württemberg , where he had represented the Mannheim II constituency since 1965 .
