Paul Kristeller

Paul Kristeller (born October 31, 1863 in Berlin , † October 2, 1931 in Meersburg ) was a German art historian and private scholar.

James Paul Kristeller, son of the businessman Hermann Kristeller (1828–1915), nephew of the gynecologist Samuel Kristeller , studied art history in Berlin, Munich and Leipzig and received his doctorate in Leipzig in 1888.

From 1894 he worked for five years in Bologna and Rome on older graphics .

He was married to the violinist Clara Kristeller .
