Paul Frédéric Lacombe (born June 12, 1990 in Vénissieux ) is a French basketball player .
career
Lacombe moved as a youth from the club AL Vénissieux Parilly Basket to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne . In the ASVEL shirt, he made his debut in the French premier league in the 2008/09 game year when the team won the championship title. But he only made his breakthrough as a professional after moving to Strasbourg IG in 2013. There he developed into a top performer. In 2016 he reached the final of the European club competition Eurocup with Strasbourg , but lost there to the Turkish representative Galatasaray Istanbul . In the 2016/17 season he posted his best statistics to date in the French league, when he recorded an average of 9.6 points, 4 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
In 2017, the Frenchman, who can be used in positions 1 and 2, accepted an offer from AS Monaco . The team from the Principality takes part in the French first division. In 2018/19 he reached a new personal record in the French league with 11.8 points per match. In 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, Lacombe and his teams became French runners-up. In summer 2020 he returned to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne.
National team
With the French national teams, Lacombe took part in European championships in the U18 and U20 age groups. With the U20 he became European champion in Croatia in 2010, Lacombe was the second best thrower of the French during the tournament behind Andrew Albicy with 11.7 points per match. In 2009 he was part of the French squad at the U19 World Cup. In November 2017, he played his first international match in the senior national team. In 2019 he won the bronze medal at the World Cup with France.
