Paul Linser
Paul Linser (born September 5, 1871 in Aalen , † June 10, 1963 in Tübingen ) was a German doctor and university professor. At the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen he was the first professor for dermatology and venereology . He is considered a pioneer in phlebology .
Life
As a doctor's son, Linser studied medicine in Tübingen . In 1891 he became a member of the Corps Franconia Tübingen with Hermann Emil Kuenzer . After completing his studies, he completed advanced training in anatomy , pathology , surgery and internal medicine in Giessen , Bern and Tübingen . He followed Ludolf von Krehl's advice and turned to “skin and love”. With Albert Neisser at the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Breslau , he dealt with lupus vulgaris and syphilis . His work was recognized as a habilitation in Tübingen in 1904 . Since 1910 apl. Professor , he pushed through the independence of his subject and a new clinic. In 1913 he received an associate's post . Ten years later, at the time of the Weimar Republic , the University of Tübingen appointed him full professor . In 1927 he campaigned for the abolition of compulsory drinking in his corps. No friend of National Socialism , he retired early after the Reichstag election in March 1933 at the age of 62. He died three months before his 92nd birthday.
