Paul Meier (athlete)

Paul Meier (born July 27, 1971 in Velbert , Mettmann district ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who was a successful decathlete in the 1990s . In the 1992 Olympics he finished sixth at the World Championships in 1993 he finished third. Paul Meier was a member of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen . With a height of 1.96 m, he had a competition weight of 92 kg. Meier ended his sports career in 1999.

Paul Meier became a project engineer for plastics technology and has been working in key account management for a software company since 2005 . On April 30, 2004 he married the former high jumper Heike Henkel , with whom he has a daughter.
