Paul Mittelstedt

Paul Mittelstedt (born July 22, 1988 in Dresden ) is a German canoeist .

Life

The canoe racer of SC Neubrandenburg was together with Norman Bröckl , Max Hoff and Robert Gleinert world champion in the four-man kayak over 1000 m at the canoe racing world championships 2011 . In a single kayak over 500 m, he had previously taken ninth place. Mittelstedt had only been nominated for the German four-man team a few hours before the final because of Marcus Groß's illness , which was supposed to keep his chance of qualifying for the Olympic Games and then surprisingly won.

Before that, he had already finished fourth at the 2011 European Championships in single kayaks over 500 and 5000 m. At the U23 European Championships he took second place in the single over 1000 m in 2007 and 2010.

Paul Mittelstedt belongs to the sports promotion group of the federal police .
