Paul Oestreich (politician)

Paul Oestreich (born April 30, 1876 in Stettin ; † after 1939) was a German journalist and politician ( DNVP ).

Life

The Dr. phil. doctorate Oestreich first worked at the Berliner Lokal-Anzeiger and served as political editor in a few years Berliner Boersen-Zeitung operates. In 1910 he was one of the founders of the Deutsche Zeitung für Chile in Santiago de Chile , which he owned together with Wilhelm Grünwaldt until 1939 and of which he was editor-in-chief. He also acted as editor-in-chief of the Niederdeutsche Zeitung in Hanover .

Oestreich joined the DNVP during the Weimar Republic , for which he was elected in the state elections on March 5, 1933 as a member of the Prussian state parliament for the 5th electoral period. The Landtag met only twice and was formally dissolved by the National Socialists on October 14, 1933.

During his time at the University of Berlin , Oestreich was active in the Landsmannschaft Marchia Berlin (today: Landsmannschaft Marchia Berlin zu Osnabrück)
