Paul Oppermann (life dates unknown) was a German football player .

Career

Oppermann belonged to VfB Leipzig , for which he played point games as a midfielder in the championships organized by the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs from 1903 to 1906 in the Gau North West Saxony , the regional highest division.

During his association with the team, he won four regional titles and was used in the final round of the German championship in 1904 and 1906. On April 24, 1904, he made his debut in a 1-0 quarter-final victory over Magdeburg FC Viktoria 1896 . He was also used in the semi-final against Duisburg SpV in a 3-2 win after extra time , scored his first goal with the goal to make it 1-1 in the 52nd minute and reached the final with his team.

However, the final against BTuFC Britannia 1892 , scheduled for May 29, 1904 in Kassel , did not take place. The Karlsruher FV had lodged a protest against the rating of this championship at the DFB. The DFB had not complied with the schedule of the final round matches in a neutral location; as a result, the final was canceled in the morning and the championship final was annulled.

In 1906 he played his last three finals for the German championship. The quarter-finals won 9-1 against FC Norden-Nordwest Berlin on April 22nd, the semi-final won 3-2 against the Berlin football club Hertha 1892 on May 6th and the final held in Nuremberg on May 27th. Thanks to his teammate Heinrich Riso , who scored the 2-1 winner in the 85th minute against 1. FC Pforzheim , he became German champions for the first time.
