Paul Ott (writer)

Paul Ott (born May 16, 1955 in Romanshorn ), pseudonym Paul Lascaux , is a Swiss writer .

Ott grew up in Goldach on Lake Constance and in St. Gallen . He has lived in Bern since 1974 . In 1979 he received his licentiate in German and art history from the University of Bern and has worked as a teacher in various positions since 1980. In 1984 the high school teacher certificate followed.

Since the mid-1980s he has been writing detective novels and crime stories under the pseudonym Paul Lascaux, the locations of which are mostly the city of Bern or communities and areas in the canton of Bern . In addition to his crime novels and short thrillers, Paul Ott is also the editor and co-author of various non-fiction books. He was also the initiator of the Swiss crime festival Mordtage , which has taken place every two years since 2001.
