Paul Otto Apian-Bennewitz

Paul Otto Apian-Bennewitz (born December 30, 1847 in Oberwiesenthal , † December 11, 1892 in Markneukirchen ) was a German organist and teacher at the college for instrument makers in Markneukirchen. Apian-Bennewitz founded the Vogtland Trade Museum, now known as the Markneukirchen Musical Instrument Museum, and was its first director from 1883 to 1892. He wrote the specialist book "Die Geige", which appeared in Weimar in 1892. Apian-Bennewitz had five sons and four daughters. A street in Markneukirchen is named after him.
