Paul Rosié (born October 23, 1910 in Berlin , † November 1, 1984 in Berlin) was an important German graphic artist , caricaturist , poster artist , book illustrator and writer .

1927–1930 he did a commercial apprenticeship, after which he was unemployed and made do with odd jobs as an errand boy, house servant, payroll clerk, theater statistician and quick draftsman. 1936–1939 he studied at the master school for graphics and book trade in Berlin a. a. with Otto Arpke , Edmund Schaefer , Ulli Huber and Johannes Boehland . 1939–1945 he was a soldier and prisoner of war. From 1945 he worked as a freelancer in Berlin. 1955–1980 he was a lecturer at the Weissensee School of Art . Since 1975 he has been an honorary professor. Rosié's role models were Olaf Gulbransson and Karl Arnold . His art is in the tradition of the Berlin illustrators Franz Burchard Dörbeck , Theodor Hosemann , Adolf Menzel , Georg Scholz , Paul Simmel , Walter Trier and Heinrich Zille . Paul Rosié is the father of two sons and a daughter.

He found his final resting place in the Pankow III cemetery in Berlin.

In 1978 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. In 1981 he received the Otto Nagel Medal.
