Paul Suess (soccer player)

Paul Suess (born June 20, 1921 ) is a former German soccer player . He played for the  BSG Wismut Aue  in a total of 72 games in the  GDR upper league .

Career

In the  1951/52 season  he joined the newly promoted  BSG Wismut Aue  in the  GDR Oberliga  and made his debut in this on August 29, 1951 for Wismut Aue. In the game against  BSG Progress Meerane  he was used by coach  Walter Fritzsch  over the entire season and scored the 3-2 final score in the 34th minute. In the  1952/53  season he scored his only goal for the BSG Wismut Aue. In the 4-0 win against BSG Chemie Leipzig on January 25, 1953, he scored after 29 minutes to lead the Auer team 1-0. At the end of the season he and his team finished second behind SG Dynamo Dresden, tied on points   . Because of the equality of points, a playoff for the championship title had to be held. In the  decider of the GDR football league in 1952/53  , he lost with his team 2: 3 against Dresden. After the  1953/54  season he left the BSG Wismut Aue and ended his career.
