Paul Schulz-Kiesow

Paul Schulz-Kiesow (born January 8, 1894 in Hamburg ; † January 26, 1964 there ) was a German economist and transport scientist . He taught at the University of Hamburg .

Life

After completing a commercial apprenticeship from 1911 to 1914, Schulz-Kiesow studied at Hamburg University from 1919 to 1925. In 1925 he received his doctorate in Hamburg with a thesis on cash management. From 1925 to 1931 he was an assistant at the social and economic seminar at Hamburg University and completed his habilitation in Hamburg in 1927 for the subject of social economics. From 1931 he was advisor for transport policy at the Hamburg World Economic Archive. In 1933 Schulz-Kiesow became a member of the NSDAP, and in November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . He took on numerous tasks in the context of local party politics, including as a district economic leader. From 1936 to 1945 he was head (chairman) of the Hamburg university study group for spatial research . In 1937 he was made a civil servant extraordinary professor, in 1942 he was appointed professor of transport science at the University of Hamburg.

In 1945 Schulz-Kiesow was fired because of his political past. His re-employment was rejected by the faculty as "under no circumstances" in 1953.
