Paul Stegmüller

Paul Stegmüller (born October 10, 1850 in Berlin ; † May 27, 1891 there ) was a German architect .

Life

After visiting the Ernestinum in Gotha, he participated in the war in 1870/1871. He then worked for his uncle, the architect Ludwig Bohnstedt in Gotha, who encouraged his artistic inclinations. After studying at the art school of the Berlin Bauakademie , he worked independently in Berlin, initially from 1877 to 1888 in shared offices with the architect Ernst von Ihne .

On June 8, 1879 he was - u. a. together with Ernst von Ihne - founding member of the Berlin Architects Association, which was split off from the Berlin Architects and Engineers Association .

In 1884 Stegmüller married a daughter of the renowned Berlin architect and university professor Hermann Ende .

After Stegmüller's death, Ernst von Ihne took over his office at Pariser Platz 6a.
