Paul Tibbitt

Paul Tibbitt (born May 13, 1968 in Los Angeles ) is an American director , animator and producer .

Live and act

Tibbitt studied at the California Institute of the Arts , where he took a degree in character animation . He then worked for Nickelodeon from the 1990s . He used to be a character designer for the CatDog series . After Stephen Hillenburg got the green light for the production of the first season of SpongeBob SquarePants , he asked his friend Tibbitt to work on the series as a board artist . After three seasons Hillenburg got out of the series, Tibbitt then took over his duties as executive producer . For his work on the series he was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003, 2004 and 2005 . In 2006 he received the Annie Award in the category “Best Cartoon Series”, the biggest award to date. In 2015 he passed his position as executive producer to Vincent Waller and Marc Ceccarelli as he was working on the third SpongeBob film. He also directed SpongeBob SquarePants 3D . He left SpongeBob in 2019 and has been with Dreamworks ever since .

In the English-language original , he dubbed Betsy Krabs in their first two appearances ( Unpronounceable and Be Young Again ). However, this task was transferred to Sirena Irwin from her third appearance (Where Love Falls). He also did a few supporting roles in the past, such as the moon in the episode Die SteinBobs .
