Paul Tighe (born February 12, 1958 in Navan , County Meath , Ireland ) is an Irish clergyman and Curia Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Paul Tighe received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Dublin on July 10, 1983 through Auxiliary Bishop Brendan Comiskey SSCC .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications on November 30, 2007 .

On 19 December 2015 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Drivastum and ordered him to the Assistant Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal State Secretary Pietro Parolin on February 27 of the following year. Co-consecrators were the President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Gianfranco Cardinal Ravasi , and the President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Claudio Maria Celli .

Pope Francis appointed him secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture on October 28, 2017.
