Paul Volkmann (writer)

Paul Volkmann ( pseudonym : Peter Wipp , born April 14, 1914 in Driesen , Neumark , † 1963 ) was a German writer .

Life

After attending primary and secondary school, Paul Volkmann led a wandering life that took him to numerous European countries. Among other things, he traveled as a cabin boy. Later, he learned through a voluntary press profession, however, was in 1935 relegated . From 1936 he was a member of the Wehrmacht . As a soldier he took part in the Second World War and was taken prisoner by the French , from which he returned to Germany in 1946 . Then he worked again as a journalist . He worked for the press, radio and television. He also published narrative works for young people under the pseudonym Peter Wipp. Volkmann lived in Zernsdorf , later in East Berlin . He was a member of the GDR Writers' Association .

Volkmann died in 1963 at the age of 49.
