Zernsdorf is a district of Koenigs Wusterhausen in the district of Dahme-Spreewald in the state of Brandenburg in the Federal Republic of Germany. Mayor is Karin Schwitalla ( SPD ).

geography

Zernsdorf is located southeast of Berlin , on the banks of three lakes. The largest of these is the Krüpelsee , which is actually a large part of the Dahme . The other two are the Zernsdorfer Lankensee as an outflow of the Uckleyfließ and the Uckleysee. Zernsdorf is part of the town of Königs Wusterhausen, which is about four kilometers to the west . With its own motorway junction 9 (Zernsdorf / Niederlehme ) of the motorway 10 / E 30 / E 55 (Berliner Ring) it is optimally connected in terms of traffic. The location on the outskirts of Berlin makes Zernsdorf a popular local recreation area, which roughly doubles its population in summer due to the large number of guests. The state capital Potsdam is approx. 50 km to the west. It is approx. 65 km to the east to Frankfurt (Oder) and thus to the Polish border. The Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport , 20 km is currently for Berlin Brandenburg Airport , BER for short, expanded.

Local division

Since January 1, 1965, Kablow brickworks ( Kobłow-Cyglownja in Lower Sorbian ) and Uckley ( Huklej in Lower Sorbian ) belong to Zernsdorf as districts. In the course of the regional reform , Zernsdorf became a district of Königs Wusterhausen on October 26, 2003. In order to be able to address the often identical street names in the districts individually, but nevertheless under the city name "Königs Wusterhausen", new postcodes were assigned to some districts of Königs Wusterhausen from January 1, 2009. Streets were renamed beforehand.

History and etymology

13th to 16th centuries

Water tower of the former sleeper works

With the Treaty of Fürstenwalde of August 15, 1373, the Mark Brandenburg changed hands for half a million guilders. With the Mark Brandenburg, Emperor Charles IV acquired the second bastion of the Luxembourgers independent of Bohemia and the second electorate next to Bohemia. The Landbuch of Charles IV of the Mark Brandenburg, drawn up in 1375, contained a list of the towns and villages in the Mark and mentioned Zernsdorf for the first time in a document as "Czernestorf", Old Sorbian "Czerny", comparable with the Lower Sorbian "zecyna" or "carny" → the " dark- ” or the “ black ” place. The village was ten Hufen tall at the time ; there were also three lakes. The Zernsdorfer Lankensee belonged to the Dobrilugk monastery , the Crupe and the Uklese belonged to a Herr von Strehle. The new owner was essentially interested in the elector's vote in future imperial elections. For a long time the land register was the only evidence of the existence of the settlement. The nearby Königs Wusterhausen was acquired in 1475 with the surrounding villages and castle by the knight family of the taverns of Landsberg and Seyda . In 1500, “Czernestorf” can also be identified as owned by the Landsberg zu Teupitz taverns and thus as part of the Schenkenländchen . In 1546, only succinct reports were made about the "village in the Teupitz rule". From 1598 the place was called Zerensdorf .

17th century

In the castle Cadastre (tax and tax registers) in 1624 for Zerensdorf "eight pawns, but none were Kossäten and another 64 souls" acquired. The village was now only eight feet tall. The Thirty Years War from 1618 to 1648 left its mark on “Zerensdorf”. Only three farms were still in use after the war. Two more were later occupied "by people from outside: They were Jonas Fiedler von Fredersdorf and Martin Schulze, a former Swedish soldier". In 1652 the village mayor and four farmers lived in the village. Friedrich Wilhelm I bought Zernsdorf ( Zerensdorf ) in 1683 from the Prussian Privy Councilor Friedrich von Jena , who assigned it to his rule in Königs Wusterhausen and had it administered by the Office of Königs Wusterhausen .

18th century

In 1711 the place consisted of six gables (= residential houses); there was a shepherd. The residents paid four groschen dues for each of the eight hooves. In 1743 there were six farmers and one Kossät living in Zernsdorf. Six other family houses had been built outside the village; there was also a brick barn. In 1771 there were seven gables and the shepherd. In 1775 the current name Zernsdorf was used for the first time .

19th century

In 1801 there were eight whole kossats, ten Büdners and four residents in the village. There were 20 hearths (= households) and eight hooves. From 1858, seven farm owners were known who employed nine male and female servants. There were still 20 workers and seven estates. One was 374 acres and another six were between 30 and 300 acres (a total of 950 acres). A ship owner worked in the village with six boatmen and four electric vehicles. There was also a jug in Zernsdorf. In 1860 the village existed with the dismantling brick factory; there was one public building as well as 29 residential and 64 farm buildings, including three brick factories.

20th and 21st centuries

At the turn of the century there were 74 houses in the village. The stock grew to 151 houses in 1931. In 1939 there were two agricultural and forestry holdings in the village that were between 20 and 100 hectares in size. In addition, there were three farms between 10 and 20 hectares, one farm between 5 and 10 hectares and 12 farms that owned between 0.5 and 5 hectares.

After the Second World War , the VEB liqueur factory was founded in 1955 with 107 employees. In 1956 there was the DR threshold factory in Zernsdorf with 262 employees, the VEB concrete and roofing material factory with 37 employees and the VEB shoe lasts with 28 employees. In 1958, a type I LPG was founded with initially five members and 20 hectares of agricultural land . It was converted into a Type III LPG in 1959. In 1960 another LPG Type I was founded, which joined LPG Type III in the same year. In 1973 in Zernsdorf there was the VEB Betonkombinat Potsdam headquarters in Zernsdorf, the VEB Beverage Combine Potsdam, Zernsdorf plant, the VEB Möbelkombinat Neuzera Rathenow, Zernsdorf plant and the PG working fishermen Kolberg, Zernsdorf brigade.

In 2003, Zernsdorf was incorporated into Königs Wusterhausen as an administrative and district .

The commercial and industrial center Zernsdorf, GIZ for short, is located in the western part of Zernsdorf. To the north is the Wiesenhof poultry farm belonging to Niederlehme. In the west and south there is a strip of forest between the residential development and the GIZ. In the south there is also the rail connection to the Königs Wusterhausen - Frankfurt / Oder railway line . To the east, the Segelfliegerdamm closes the area and leads directly to the motorway entrance. The seven building sites have sizes between 11,000 m² and 42,000 m² and together cover approx. 12 hectares. The GIZ is fully developed and is suitable both as an industrial area with 24-hour operation and for other types of use. One construction site was sold in October 2007 and there has been a lot of construction activity there since autumn 2008. The branch of a company for the retreading of tires started work in April 2009.

A settlement with single-family and terraced houses is being built on the “Königsufer” on the site of the former sleeper works and the neighboring concrete works.

Marina Zernsdorf

The marina at Krüpelsee is used for tourism. Numerous houseboats are available for rent. In 2017 a restaurant opened next to it.
