Paul Werners

Paul Werners (born November 16, 1877 in Düren , † January 2, 1953 ) was a German engineer . He was chairman of the board of Heinrich Büssing Automobilwerke AG in Braunschweig .

Life

Werners came as the son of Hubert Jakob Werners and Bertha Werners, geb. Gervers, to the world. His father was mayor of Düren from 1868 to 1894. After attending the grammar school in Düren, he switched to the upper secondary school in Koblenz, where he passed the final exam. He then took up engineering studies at the Technical University of Darmstadt , which he completed in 1902 with a diploma. During the First World War he served as a captain in the air force.

After working at Banning AG in Hamm and at Kalker Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik in Cologne, he joined Rudolf Egger as a partner in the H. Büssing automobile works in 1920 and later took over the management of the company as general director. In 1941 he retired from direct management.

In addition, he was a member of the supervisory boards of Pantherwerke AG and of the Darmstädter und Nationalbank . He was a member of the Hanover State Committee of Dresdner Bank and a member of the board of the Reich Association of the Automotive Industry .
