Paul Westwood
Paul Westwood (* 1953 in England ) is an English bass player .
Life
At the age of 16, Westwood played in the Nation Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) and began studying double bass at the Guildhall School of Music in 1971 .
By 1976 he had already given concerts in 23 countries and worked for well-known musicians such as Elton John , Vangelis , Cliff Richard , John Miles , Stephen Bishop , Andy Williams , José Carreras , Chocolate , Madonna , Andrew Lloyd Webber , Janet Jackson and Tom Jones . His successes made him one of the most sought-after session musicians on the London music scene. He also worked on various film and musical productions.
Paul Westwood now teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, King's College and Stowe School. In 1992 he produced a teaching video called The Complete Bass Guitar Player .
His most successful publication to date is his work Bass Bible , a book for bassists with all the theoretical foundations and advanced topics.
