Paul Wolf (born March 11, 1920 in Malkwitz , Wroclaw district , † December 30, 1977 in Niederstetten ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Wolf attended the elementary school in Malkwitz, the secondary school in Kanth (Silesia) and passed his Abitur at the secondary school in Breslau in 1939 . From 1939 to 1945 he had to do Reich labor service and military service (most recently as a lieutenant) and was an American prisoner of war from 1944 to early 1946. Then he trained as a cloth maker and in 1948 was a cloth weaver in the Oehlert cloth factory in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . There he was chairman of the works council from 1949 to 1953 and from 1953 union secretary of the textile and clothing union, managing director of the Lambrecht / Pfalz branch.

Wolf had been a member of the SPD since 1949. From 1953 to 1966 he was chairman of the SPD local association Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, until 1965 a member of the district executive of the SPD of the Palatinate and chairman of the SPD sub-district Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. 1957 to 1964 he was third alderman of the city of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse and honorary mayor. In 1965 he was chairman of the SPD city council group and in 1969 he became the first mayor of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse.

He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from May 18, 1951 to May 17, 1971. In the state parliament he was a member and from the 5th electoral term chairman of the social policy committee. In 1959 he was a member of the 3rd, 1969 of the 5th Federal Assembly .

In addition, in 1948 he co-founded the Association of Expelled Germans in Rhineland-Palatinate, until 1954 its district and state chairman and member of the expellees and refugee committee of the SPD party executive in Bonn.
