Paul Zbinden

Paul Zbinden (born November 14, 1938 in Plaffeien ; resident in Plasselb ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

Zbinden studied at the University of Freiburg i.Üe. Law and after a language stay in Paris worked as a clerk at the cantonal court of Friborg . In 1966 he was admitted to the bar and from 1967 he ran his own legal practice. In 1968 he received his doctorate. iur.

Zbinden was General Councilor of the City of Freiburg from 1967 to 1970, Grand Councilor from 1973 to 1977 and sat on the National Council from 1975 to 1991 . In 1986/87 he chaired the Finance Commission of the National Council and from 1984 to 1988 he was parliamentary group president of the CVP.

Zbinden was president or member of the board of directors of the Swiss Raiffeisen Association , Berner Versicherung as well as Sika , Siemens , Schumacher and the Kaisereggbahnen .
