Paula Fichtl

Paula Fichtl (born March 2, 1902 in Salzburg ; † August 8, 1989 there ) was the housekeeper for Sigmund Freud's family .

At the age of 27, Paula Fichtl went to work as a maid in the Sigmund Freud family's apartment at Berggasse 19 in Vienna . In 1938 she emigrated to London with the Freud family . After Anna Freud's death in 1982, she returned to Austria .

The journalist Detlef Berthelsen recorded her life story in the early 1980s.
