Princess Pauline Emma Auguste Hermine zu Waldeck and Pyrmont (born October 19, 1855 in Arolsen ; † July 3, 1925 in Wittgenstein ) was a princess from the Waldeck family and, by marriage, Princess of Bentheim and Steinfurt from 1890 to 1918.

Life

Pauline was the second daughter of Prince Georg Viktor zu Waldeck and Pyrmont (1831-1893) and his first wife Princess Helene von Nassau (1831-1888), daughter of Duke Wilhelm I and his second wife Princess Pauline von Württemberg .

Pauline's sister Emma was Queen from 1879 and Regent of the Netherlands from 1890 to 1898.

On May 7, 1881, Princess Pauline married Prince Alexis zu Bentheim and Steinfurt (1845–1919), eldest son of Prince Ludwig Wilhelm (1812–1890) and his wife Princess Bertha von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (1818–1888) in Arolsen. . The marriage had eight children:
