Maxi Blaha

Maxi Blaha (born September 22, 1972 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress and singer .

Life

Blaha was born in Vienna and completed her acting studies at the Krauss Drama School and the University of Music and Performing Arts. She completed master classes at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and took singing lessons in New York. From 1993 to 1996 she was a member of the Vienna Burgtheater ensemble. From 1996 to 2010 she had permanent engagements and leading roles at the state theaters in Coburg and Schwaben, Tübingen and at the Linz State Theater. She is a permanent guest at the Phoenix Theater and the Vienna Metropol.

Blaha had leading roles in Purim spil (LINZ09 European Capital of Culture), in the Vienna Comedy Theater, the Reichenau Festival, the Filmhof Weinviertel, the Laxenburg Cultural Summer, the Gutenstein Festival, the Melk Summer Games and in Salon 5. She was the artistic director and was a soloist with many musical-literary programs.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Gustav Klimt's death , Blaha produced and played the leading role in the theater solo Emilie Flöge - Penny Black's beloved muse in the Marble Hall of Belvedere Palace in Vienna. In 2018–2019 the artist will tour Europe, Japan, the USA and Australia with Beloved Muse.

Blaha is married to the writer Franzobel , but the two separated in 2018.
