Helene Wilhelmine Henriette von Nassau (born August 12, 1831 in Wiesbaden , † October 27, 1888 in Pyrmont ) was Princess of Waldeck and Pyrmont by marriage .

Life

Prince Georg Viktor zu Waldeck and Pyrmont

Helene was the daughter of Duke Wilhelm von Nassau (1792–1839) and his second wife Pauline (1810–1856), a born princess of Württemberg.

On September 26, 1853, Princess Helene married Prince Georg Viktor zu Waldeck and Pyrmont . Together they had seven children, six girls and one boy, including the future Queen and Regent Emma of the Netherlands, the second wife of King Wilhelm III of the Netherlands . The eldest daughter Sophie died of tuberculosis in England in 1869 at the age of 15 .
