Paulo Renato Rocha Santos

Paulo Renato Costa Rodrigues Rocha Santos (* 1933 in São Luís ) is a former Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Paulo Renato Costa Rodrigues Rocha Santos graduated in law from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 1956 and completed postgraduate courses at the Rio Branco Institute and Uppsala University in 1963 . In 1964 he was taken on as a subdivision manager in the public relations department and a year later he was employed at the information point at the UN headquarters . In 1966 he was a speaker at meetings of the Consejo Interamericano Económico y Social , an organ of the Council of the Organization of American States in Buenos Aires .

From 1966 to 1968 Santos was first appointed as vice consul, later as attached consul and finally as consul in Amsterdam. From 1968 he was transferred to Belgrade as second-class legation secretary . From March 17 to April 3, 1975 he served as chargé d' affaires, initially in Kuwait City , from where he was also accredited in Jeddah , and then until November 4, 1975 in Damascus . In 1982 Santos was part of the delegation at a cultural conference in Mexico City and in 1984 headed the Brazilian delegation at the Cannes International Film Festival . As secretary of the embassy he was entrusted with the Franco-Brazilian cultural project. From 1985 he was seconded to Lisbon , The Hague , Rabat and Algiers with the same rank and from 1997 to 2003 to Cairo as counselor .

Santos wrote an unpublished travelogue in Syria.
