Paulo Roberto Moreira da Costa , called Paulão (born April 29, 1969 in Salvador da Bahia ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player .

Career

Paulão started his international career in 1991 with Paulo Emilio . The duo won the open tournaments in Lignano Sabbiadoro and Enoshima in 1992/93 . Two years later Paulão played temporarily with Roberto Lopes da Costa and achieved tournament victories in Carolina and Enoshima again. In 1997 Paulão and Paulo Emilio won the Alanya Open. They then competed at the first World Cup in Los Angeles and won the bronze medal.

After Paulão started with changing partners from the end of 1998 to 1999 and did not get past 41st place at the World Cup in Marseille with Rodrigo Pietraroia, he formed a new duo with Jefferson Bellaguarda in 2000 . The best result was a third place in Klagenfurt . In 2002 and 2003 Paulão played again with his old partner Paulo Emilio and reached fifth place in Fortaleza .
