The Evangelical Lutheran Pauluskirche , sometimes also referred to as Paulus Church , in Ostercappeln is a sacred building erected from mid-1913 to the beginning of 1914 , which is currently in use by the Paulus parish of Ostercappeln , a member parish of the Bramsche parish . The church is named after the apostle Paul .

history

Since Lutheran church services have also been held for Ostercappeln parishioners since 1524 in the Arenshorst manor chapel, about eight kilometers away , but the Ostercappelner had to walk an always arduous path to the church, a "collaboration" was established in 1909 - here a branch created for the benefit of church-community collaboration - set up under the direction of an auxiliary pastor in Ostercappeln itself (the Sunday services were held in the hall of an inn). At the same time a church building association was founded, which raised donations for the purpose of building a church. After a member of the Ostercappeln parish had made a plot of land available for the construction of a church, and shortly afterwards, in 1912, an architect from Osnabrück was commissioned to plan the church, the foundation stone was laid on June 4, 1913. Ten months later, on 26 April 1914 was followed by the inauguration of a branch church built of Arens Horster "Mother Church" prayer house, which gained independence in 1965 and its own parish received. On April 26, 2014, the congregation celebrated the 100th anniversary of the church with the presence of numerous regional personalities.

Interior

The church is equipped with a collection of carved unique items created by carpenters belonging to the community, including colored Christian carvings on the pulpit , altar and baptismal font .

location

The church has been connected to a parish hall since 1967, and a kindergarten has been in the immediate vicinity since 2002. Opposite the church is the communal cemetery , which in turn is adjacent to the communal cemetery .
