Pavel Křížkovský
Pavel Křížkovský (born January 9, 1820 in Kreuzendorf , Austrian Silesia , † May 8, 1885 in Brno , Moravia ) was a Czech composer .
life and work
The Augustinian monk Pavel Křížkovský worked after studying in Prague as music director of the Augustinian monastery in Altbrünn .
His best-known work is the cantata The Saints Cyril and Method . He also composed works for male choir and songs. In 1860 he founded the church choir "Beseda brněnská", which still exists today. His most famous student was the composer Leoš Janáček .
