Pavel Sládek (born July 9, 1971 in Ostrava , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak biathlete .
Pavel Sládek is a trainer and lives in Karlovy Vary . He started biathlon in 1980. He competed in his first international races before the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in the World Cup . After the dissolution, he became part of the newly created Slovak national squad. The first international championships were the 1993 World Championships in Borovets . Sládek was 40th of the sprint, 42nd of the individual and with Lukáš Krejčí , Daniel Krčmář and Pavel Kotraba eleventh of the relay race. He was part of the first Olympic team of Slovakia and took part in Lillehammer in the 1994 Winter Olympics, where he was 56th of the individual and with Pavel Kotraba, Daniel Krčmář and Lukáš Krejčí as the starting runner of the Slovak relay 18th. After the season he ended his career as well as the three other most important representatives of the first generation of Slovak biathletes Pavel Kotraba, Daniel Krčmář and Lukáš Krejčí and made way for a new generation of Slovak biathletes.
