Pavol Jantausch
Pavol Jantausch (born June 27, 1870 in Vrbové , Czechoslovakia ; † June 29, 1947 in Trnava , Czechoslovakia, today Slovakia ) was an apostolic administrator in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Trnava .
Life
Born in Vrbove in 1870, Pavol Jantausch attended high schools in Trnava and Bratislava , the seminary in Esztergom and did his doctorate in Vienna . He was ordained a priest on September 21, 1893 . He was pastor in several parishes in the archdiocese. Pope Pius XI appointed him on May 29, 1922 apostolic administrator of Trnava and on March 30, 1925 titular bishop of Priene . He was ordained bishop on June 14, 1925 by the Bishop of Nitra, Bishop Karol Kmetko . In 1930 he campaigned for a Premonstratensian monastery in Vrbove. In 1938 he founded the seminary in Trnava.
He found his final resting place in his hometown Vrbove.
