Pavol Jonáš

Pavol Jonáš (born June 18, 1925 in Prietrž , Slovakia , † 2008 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak politician ( KPTsch ) and agricultural functionary. He was the chairman of the Union of Cooperative Farmers of the ČSSR.

Life

After studying at the Higher Agricultural School, which he graduated with a degree in agriculture, Jonáš became chairman of the LPG in Prietrž, Okres Senica . From 1968 to 1972 he was first chairman of the Association of Cooperative Farmers of the Slovak Socialist Republic ( Slovak Zväz družstevných roľníkov SSR ), from 1972 then chairman of the Association of Cooperative Farmers of the ČSSR ( Czech Svaz družstevních rolníků ČSSR ).

Jonáš joined the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (CPC) in 1954. From 1969 to 1971 he was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Slovakia and the Agricultural Commission of the Central Committee. Since 1976 he has been a member of the Agriculture and Food Commission of the CPC Central Committee. On the XVI. (1981) and XVII. At the CPC Congress (1986), he was elected candidate for the Central Committee.

From 1969 to 1971 he was a deputy and member of the Presidium of the Slovak National Council . From 1968 to 1972 he was also a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the National Front of the ČSSR. Since 1976 he was a member of the Federal Assembly of the ČSSR.
