The Pecora is a 23 kilometer long river in Tuscany , which runs through the Italian province of Grosseto from north to southwest and flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea at Scarlino in the Arcipelago Toscano .

The Pecora rises south of the Monte Arsenti mountain between the main town of Massa Marittima and its district of Montebamboli. In the municipality of Massa Marittima it flows a total of 14 kilometers, with the canalization beginning after Cura Nuova. Then he enters the municipality of Scarlino (a total of seven kilometers), of which he spends two kilometers as the municipal border with Follonica . At Casone di Scarlino the river divides into two arms, with the older part (Pecora Vecchia) flowing over the Allacciante di Scarlino canal and the newer, also canalized part, at Puntone di Scarlino just south of the Pecora Vecchia and also in the swamps Scarlino (Padule di Scarlino) into the Tyrrhenian sea opens .
